The Organic Marketing Company Pty Ltd is a farmer owned company. It has been established to empower farmers to balance their production, profit and organic systems by enhancing marketing opportunities. The company markets only certified organic and biodynamic products to markets domestically and internationally.

Tom Hackett - Chairman, Tom has had over thirty years of experience working in the organic industry. In 1982 Tom and wife Marguerite, purchased a farm in the Coffs Coast which evolved into obtaining full organic certification in 1990 and then progressing into tourism and farm restaurant promoting organic food and the industry. The farm known as Kiwi Down Under Farm received over twenty awards for excellence in the tourism and organic industry over the fourteen years it was open to the public. In addition to running the farm full-time, Tom is an organic and biodynamic inspector with NASAA and has in the past also been an auditor for OHGA and BFA. His work as an assessor has also seen Tom travel interstate and internationally carrying out over 1,200 certification inspections. Tom has also been an active member of the BDFGA and board member of the BFA as well as being involved in a number of council committees. Tom has also been involved as director for many groups including the Organic Macadamia Growers and Mid North Coast Organics Inc. and he also runs his own organic consulting service. Tom is currently on the Organic Ministerial Advisory Committee (OMAC) advising to the NSW Minister for Agriculture on organic issues. He is a founding member of the Organic Marketing Company and operates as marketing director for the company. |
